He enjoys spending time with his wife, family and friends. In his spare time, Dr. Guillen also enjoys spending time outdoors, biking, rooting for Houston sports, and practicing judo.

Dr. Guillen has always been interested in medicine along with the humanities, with psychiatry serving as a blend of both. Psychiatry has allowed him to consistently be involved with the human condition and work in an area of huge need in medicine. He became a psychiatrist in order to serve society and help those struggling with mental and behavioral disorders.
His areas of expertise include bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and schizophrenia. Dr. Guillen has been practicing psychiatry outside of residency for about nine years with experience in inpatient, outpatient, consultation/liasion, residential and emergency settings.
He prides himself on being patient, inquisitive, respectful, and a strong advocate for patients.

After completing his residency at Texas Tech University, Dr. Guillen has worked in numerous roles as both a medical director and psychiatrist throughout the Southwest in Arkansas, New Mexico, Texas.
