Wendy Marussich is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a unique and holistic approach to mental health care. Drawing on her extensive experience in oncology nursing, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy, Wendy is deeply committed to helping patients address their mental health needs with compassion and expertise. She focuses on creating collaborative, personalized treatment plans that integrate traditional and interventional techniques to foster emotional resilience and wellness.

Wendy treats clients facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, grief, and existential distress, particularly in patients navigating cancer diagnoses or other life-limiting conditions. She is also passionate about supporting caregivers and addressing their mental health needs, including anticipatory grief and bereavement. With specialized training in Esketamine therapy, TMS, and psychedelic-assisted treatments, Wendy uses innovative approaches to help her patients find relief from complex and treatment-resistant mental health challenges.

Her working style is trauma-informed, non-judgmental, LGBT-affirmative, and patient-centered, using somatic mindfulness techniques to foster awareness of the mind-body connection. Wendy believes in the power of creativity, curiosity, and playfulness to deepen emotional literacy and resilience, empowering patients to achieve their mental health goals.

Wendy joined Mindful Health Solutions to utilize cutting-edge interventional psychiatry treatments, including TMS and Esketamine, alongside traditional psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. She values the opportunity to provide accessible, life-affirming care and appreciates the clinic’s commitment to innovative mental health solutions.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Wendy enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking, and practicing yoga. She is passionate about traveling, vegan cooking, and dancing to electronic music. Wendy also loves walking on the beach with her cat and finds inspiration in San Francisco’s rich culture, progressive values, and history of innovation.

Education & Experience

Wendy earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from UCSF and completed an Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship in Psycho-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She also holds certifications in Hakomi mindfulness-based psychotherapy, MDMA-assisted therapy, and Ketamine-assisted therapy. As a co-founder of the Organization of Psychedelic and Entheogenic Nurses (OPENurses), Wendy continues to advance her passion for innovative, integrative mental health care.

Prior to working in healthcare, Wendy was a biologist, earning a bachelors in Biology from Vassar College, a PhD in biology from Arizona State University, and completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Arizona.  She then decided to transition to healthcare, and worked as an oncology nurse for over a decade before transitioning to mental healthcare, to better address the needs of her patients.
