More about Ani Behrouzi, PMHNP

Ani Behrouzi is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in many psychiatric conditions including: depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, acute crisis, substance use, eating disorders, OCD, ADHD, and trauma related disorders. She was drawn to psychiatry during her clinical rotation in nursing school, as she has always believed in the “mind/body connection.” She was able to understand how emotional unrest can lead to physical consequences and wanted to work with patients who needed that help.

As a PMHNP, she works with each of her patients individually to create a treatment plan that is tailored to their needs and capability. She strongly believes that medication management is only a small portion of psychiatric treatment. For someone to sustain long term management of their mental health condition, she encourages her patients to also look at diet, sleep, electronic use and physical activity. These components play a profound role on mental health. Additionally, therapy is a crucial element to treatments.

Ani Behrouzi has a passion for wholistic healthcare, and understands the importance of different treatment options for each patient. Treatment options such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and esketamine offer patients options when medication alone isn’t working, or they have more treatment-resistant conditions. The option to offer other treatments alongside therapy ensures that each patient is able to get what works best for them.
