More about Kelsey Knox, PMHNP

Kelsey Knox is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who finds fulfillment in supporting adolescents and adults through a variety of mental health concerns. Her experience includes treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and psychosis-spectrum disorders, and she has additional training through Postpartum International Support in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Kelsey strives to collaborate with each patient to create individualized treatment plans for their unique needs. Her ideal patient is motivated to heal and is open to considering different interventional treatment options.

Her clinical focus is integrative psychiatry, in which she can offer not just medication management, but also brief supportive therapy, TMS, esketamine, nutritional psychiatry, and more. Her work is grounded in research and evidence-based practice, and individualized to each patient, and her approach to provider-patient relationships is collaborative, warm, and trauma-informed. Kelsey feels honored to be a part of her patients’ stories and supports them in not only achieving remission of their symptoms but towards living a life filled with wholeness and joy.

During her years of experience prior to joining Mindful Health Solutions, Kelsey focused solely on medication management and brief supportive therapy. However, she referred several patients to clinics that offered TMS and witnessed how successful these treatments were in alleviating their symptoms. Thus, she developed a desire to offer integrative treatments such as TMS to her patients. She aligns with Mindful Health Solution’s “Patients First” approach and is excited to be part of an organization that uses cutting-edge research and an integrative approach to help improve outcomes for patients.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dogs. Her hobbies include hiking, skiing, HIIT workouts, cycling, stand-up paddle boarding, and yoga. She also enjoys playing piano, baritone ukulele, singing, traveling, reading, and cooking new recipes at home. As an avid lover of nature, Kelsey feels lucky to be able to call Seattle her home. She appreciates the proximity to the Puget Sound and mountains, the abundance of indie stores and coffee shops, and the magic of the changing seasons.

Education & Experience

Prior to becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Kelsey worked as a registered nurse in community/public health, inpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, and emergency medicine, caring for individuals across the lifespan in a variety of clinical settings. She desired to become a nurse to help increase access to trauma-informed psychiatric care, so she went back to school and obtained her training from Vanderbilt University.

After graduating, she worked at Rolling Hills Hospital in Franklin, TN, as the first psychiatric nurse practitioner at that hospital to have her own inpatient caseload. She provided care for patients across the lifespan, particularly in the psychosis and adolescent units. She also conducted psychiatric evaluations and provided medication management for individuals attending the PHP/IOP programs for both the mental health and substance use disorder tracks. Additionally, she worked in a private outpatient practice providing medication management via telehealth for adolescents and adults. After moving from Tennessee to Washington and prior to joining Mindful Health Solutions, she worked at Navos, a community mental health clinic, caring for adults and older adults with serious mental illnesses.
