Dr. Singh is a Psychiatrist with a focus on diagnosing and treating mental illness such as depression and anxiety disorders. He is a seasoned clinician with over twenty-five years of extensive experience helping a wide range of patients in different settings.
Initially working as a physician in Emergency Medicine for over fifteen years, Dr. Singh pursued psychiatry after a personal experience with great grief. He found he was able to relate and help people get through challenging occurrences in their lives, and discover a new sense of well-being as they worked with him for relief and recovery from their particular struggles.
In his work with patients, Dr. Singh wants his patients to feel listened to and at ease with him. He is a caring, involved practitioner and wants to learn about his patients holistically, understand applicable family dynamics, and form a partnership with them to offer his support and improve compliance of treatment plan. He finds this helps open his patients to accepting his recommendations as he builds trust with them.
Having treated many patients through the years, he knows that sometimes medications do not work to provide sufficient relief. For these patients, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) may help and doesn’t have the side effects found with psychopharmacology alone.
He joined Mindful Health Solutions in the late fall of 2020.
As an avid golfer and cycler, he stays active in outdoor activities. He also spends time farming, and enjoys growing almonds, raising chickens and sheep, and most of all, riding his two horses, Pinto and Logan. Dr. Singh loves living in El Dorado Hills and the Sacramento Region, where he and his wife have raised three kids, two of whom are following in his footsteps in medicine and one who has mirrored his passion for animals and is pursuing an advanced degree in wildlife conservation.
