About Ladan Hariri, MD

Dr. Hariri is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist focused on helping patients with anxiety and depression, ADHD for both adults and adolescents, and women’s health issues including peri-natal mental health, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and menopause-related mood disorders. She treats patients via telepsychiatry.

Though initially planning for a different specialty in medicine, within six months of medical school, she began studying behavioral science. She stuck to it and cannot imagine another path. Psychiatry brought out the most compassionate, empathetic and patient side of herself. She finds that psychiatry has helped her view the world from a different perspective.

She appreciates working with patients committed to their recovery and being honest with their physician, and ones that recognize some side effects may offer a greater good in an optimized state of mind. Her style is conversational with a focus on education. She is humbled by the experience of helping patients with their most vulnerable struggles, and no other specialty in medicine would allow her to be the provider she strives to be. In working with individuals, she defers to the Zoroastrian mantra of “good thoughts, good words, good deeds.”

While appreciating the patient flexibility and increased accessibility of telepsychiatry, she finds that treatment-resistant mood disorders may need another treatment option. She believes that Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an innovative technology and procedure helping such patients, and this proactive approach will benefit patients that may not find relief from medication alone.

She joined Mindful Health Solutions in the Summer of 2019.

She lives in Southern California in the Los Angeles area and appreciates the diversity and acceptance of so many cultures represented in the people, restaurants and shops.

Her residency exposed her to some patients that were incredibly ill, and often part of an undertreated population that desperately needed help. Her focus tended to be on medically complex patients with comorbid illnesses and struggles. Her interest in helping patients with advanced depression and additionally women’s mental health burgeoned.

Following her residency, Dr. Hariri began splitting her time between telepsychiatry and working onsite at hospitals such as Mission Hospital Laguna Beach, where she was an attending psychiatrist on the Behavioral Health Unit.
