More about Margaret Foulk, LPC

Margaret Foulk is part of our Marietta clinic team as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She typically likes to incorporate CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness in working with adults with Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorder, and other mood disorders. She is also a certified rehabilitation counselor and specializes in working with individuals with all types of disabilities.

In her own words, her approach to therapy is authentic, warm, strengths-based, and collaborative. As a practitioner, she believes that the patient is the expert on their own life, and she views therapy as an opportunity for the patient to collect a myriad of tools with which they can heal themselves. She believes the therapeutic alliance is where healing starts and makes it the main goal to show up as her authentic self during each session. She strives to work with patients who are motivated to be active participants and are open to new ideas and techniques.

She joins Mindful Health Solutions because of our evidence-based practice and will be providing psychotherapy to our patients. She enjoys a patient-first approach and wants to work with patients to find what treatment option will work best for them. Margaret worked as a TMS technician prior to getting her Master’s degree, and watching how the treatment transformed people’s lives was exceptionally rewarding to her. She believes in the treatments and how they are minimally invasive, and offer a reduction in side effects compared to traditional medications.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Margaret describes herself as a foodie. She loves to travel and be outside, especially when it comes to attending music festivals, concerts, and even operas. On a normal day, she enjoys taking her dog for walks and riding motorcycles. Originally from Atlanta, she has always loved the diversity of people, activities, and food. She’s enjoyed watching Atlanta grow into the vibrant and dynamic city it is today.

Education & Experience

When she began her college education, she started at Georgia College, where she got a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Afterwards, she attended Georgia State University for her Master’s of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling.

Her first job out of college was as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. She then worked with Spring Health as a Behavioral Clinician, until becoming a Behavioral Health Liaison at Wellstar. She stayed there for two years, then moving to work in the Grady Hospital system, until becoming a Psychotherapist at Spring Health in 2022. She now joins Mindful Health Solution’s Marietta clinic as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
