Willis Smith is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner whose specific areas of interest include mood and anxiety disorders that occur during pregnancy and postpartum. He is passionate about talking with patients about their options and empowering them to make the choice they feel is best for them and their lives. He believes the patient-provider relationship should feel comfortable, like a casual conversation. He states, “We are two humans on the same journey around the sun. You have questions. I hopefully have answers and potential solutions.”

Willis got into the mental health field after experiencing staggering grief while in college. After going through counseling, he realized he wanted to help others like how he was helped. He worked as a professional counselor after graduate school for a few years. Then, after seeing how desperate his local area was for prescribers, he decided to go back to school to be a nurse practitioner.

Willis believes that both Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Esketamine are promising options for patients still suffering when medications don’t work and that Mindful Health Solutions is an environment in which professionalism is apparent, but patients are the first priority.
