More about Josh Habansky
Even as a young child, Josh Habansky was fascinated by the intricate workings of the brain and the complexities of human behavior. The interest drew him to study psychology and sociology in his undergraduate education and ultimately to realize a passion for working with patients in mental health. He began his career as a registered nurse caring for patients with various psychiatric diagnoses. This illuminated his path and inspired him to pursue additional education and training to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
In patient care, he uses a collaborative and individualized approach to facilitate the achievement of treatment goals that are as unique as the individuals themselves. For Josh, each person seeking mental health care comes with his or her own set of values, experiences, goals, strengths, and weaknesses. He believes in integrating these differences into treatment. He views each patient as a complex being with specific mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs and considers all these facets of health when putting together a treatment plan.
For Josh, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) offers a novel, non-invasive treatment for depression and is an extremely effective alternative for patients that are suffering and haven’t found relief from a psychopharmacological intervention. While psychopharmacology has come a long way in the past several decades and can be lifesaving for many, some do not find recovery through medications alone, despite their best efforts and the efforts of their psychiatric providers. TMS may help these patients.
Josh Habansky joined Mindful Health Solutions in the Spring of 2020.
Personal Interests
Having lived in Connecticut for all his life, Josh recently relocated to the Bay Area. He’s always been drawn to the West Coast and California in particular for its progressive nature, rich culture and diversity, and the spirit of innovation. His passion lies into continuing to study the various inputs that contribute to mental health, especially nutrigenomics and epigenetics.
