ADHD can present itself in many symptoms, but most of which fall in two buckets: inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity.
Symptoms of Inattention
ADHD is a common and lifelong disorder that impacts children and adults alike. Importantly, many individuals with ADHD also suffer from depression and anxiety. At Mindful Health Solutions, we are dedicated to helping people overcome all these challenges, and properly diagnosing and treating ADHD is often an important piece of the puzzle.
Book an AppointmentHistorically, ADHD was classified as a disorder of childhood, but it very often lasts into adulthood, and our practice is dedicated to identifying and treating ADHD in both children and adults. In fact, the National Institute of Health estimates that ADHD affects 4-5% of adults in the US.
ADHD is also heritable. Children of adults with ADHD have an approximately 5 times greater risk of ADHD than those without ADHD in their families. The same is true in reverse; parents of children with ADHD have about a 5 times greater risk of having ADHD compared to the general population. So if a parent or child has recently been diagnosed with ADHD, the other should be tested as well.

Adult ADHD is prevalent but often missed due to a lack of professional expertise plus overlap with other psychiatric conditions and mental health challenges. Mindful Health Solutions providers are trained to use evidence-based and clinically-validated methods to diagnose and treat ADHD in adults as well as children.
Overall, we understand the importance of patient-centered care and understand that one size does not fit all when it comes to mental health treatment. Patients respond well to the dynamic menu of treatments we offer, which includes traditional medication management and psychotherapy as well as cutting-edge alternatives. Mindful Health Solutions also wants to make treatment comfortable and accessible. If patients are unable to physically come into the office or prefer a virtual appointment, Mindful Health Solutions offers telepsychiatry. This allows patients to get care from wherever they are in the state. We also foster a strong culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Our therapists strive to embody a sense of awareness, respect, and humility with regard to cultural differences. And last but not least, we accept most major insurances.
