Dr. Emma Castro is fluent in Spanish and specializes in supporting Hispanic patients and patients seeking care for women’s mental health, cultural psychiatry, trauma, and depression. She focuses on the biopsychosocial model of care, prioritizing getting to know her patients well in order to address all of their needs and issues for whole-person care.

Dr. Castro has been serving the San Fransico Bay Area community for more than 15 years. Over the years, she has supported patients with PTSD, trauma, and depression, while also specializing in women’s mental health. She believes that it’s important to take into consideration all aspects of personal well-being, including social, physical, and mental health.
Trained by world-class experts at Harvard University through their VA program in Boston, MA, she was able to take her learning to the next level. Her time there allowed her to work in different settings that evolved her skill sets to adapt to various patient conditions and crisis needs.
Dr. Castro is proud to treat the Hispanic community and speaks fluent Spanish.
She is driven to make a positive impact on her patients’ lives.
Personal Interests
A California transplant, Dr. Castro loves the Sacramento area, from the weather and landscapes to the people themselves. More than anything, she says, she appreciates Californians and their way of life, and the importance placed on maintaining a life of balance.
