Kim Wian, PMNHP

More about Kim Wian
Kim’s journey into the mental health field began during her clinical exposure in community hospital settings. She was drawn to the depth of therapeutic relationships that psychiatric mental health nurses form with their patients, and their ability to gain their patients’ trust under challenging circumstances. Witnessing how empathy and trust can transform care made Kim realize the impact of mental health nursing, motivating her to pursue her path as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Kim is particularly interested in interventional psychiatry as it intersects with treatment-resistant depression, suicidal thinking, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She believes these modalities have infused the field with renewed hope for addressing complex and treatment-resistant cases. She is excited to offer patients innovative solutions by incorporating modalities like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), SPRAVATO (esketamine) nasal spray, and ketamine infusion therapy.
She joined Mindful Health Solutions because she values our patient-centered approach and dedication to advancing mental health care. Additionally, our treatment modalities align with her enthusiasm for interventional psychiatry. She is moved by how these interventional treatments offer rapid relief for individuals with treatment-resistant depression. TMS is non-invasive and has minimal side effects, while esketamine provides a much-needed alternative for those who haven’t responded to traditional therapies. Both empower her to offer hope to her patients who may have lost hope.
Personal Interests
Kim appreciates the diversity and inclusivity of living in Northern California, which provides a unique backdrop for understanding and meeting the mental health needs of a diverse population. Outside of work, she enjoys activities that promote personal wellness and balance. Whether it’s exploring nature with her dogs, painting, or spending time with loved ones, these activities keep her grounded and energized for working with her patients.
