Dr. Kuzma Kovzun is a psychiatrist in Sierra College/Roseville passionate about understanding the complexities of the human mind. He entered the field of psychiatry to combine his love of science with the desire to help people make meaningful, positive changes in their lives. Dr. Kovzun has a special interest in treating ADHD, a condition he believes has been misunderstood and stigmatized for too long. With the right treatment, he finds ADHD can be managed in ways that significantly improve a patient’s quality of life.
He enjoys working with patients from diverse backgrounds and values the opportunity to learn from their unique experiences. Dr. Kovzun approaches treatment collaboratively. Dr. Kuzma Kovzun enjoys living in the Sacramento area, where the abundance of local events, family-friendly parks, and great weather make it an ideal place to call home. He loves exploring the outdoors with his family, taking advantage of California’s natural beauty. In his spare time, Dr. Kovzun also enjoys building electric go-karts, combining his passion for hands-on projects with his love for adventure.
Education & Experience
Dr. Kuzma Kovzun earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. During medical school, he commissioned in the United States Air Force, where he began his journey in military medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency at Michigan State University within an active-duty military setting, where he gained extensive experience in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
After completing his residency, Dr. Kovzun served as the sole psychiatrist at Beale Air Force Base in California, providing care to a patient population of over 5,000 individuals. His experience in this role further developed his expertise in treating complex mental health conditions, with a particular interest in ADHD. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to integrating cutting-edge therapies to improve his patients’ quality of life.
