More about Michael Speed, PMHNP
Michael Speed is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a specific focus on ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety, and mood stability management. He has worked with pediatric populations and adults as a PMHNP, along with ages across the lifespan as a registered nurse, with most of his RN time working on a pediatric inpatient psych unit. While doing his military service, he developed an understanding that personal happiness and success both begin with stable mental health. Recognizing this need contributed to his pursuit to become a mental health provider, and his overall goal to help others improve their quality of life through mental health improvement.
As a PMHNP, his working style is a collaborative approach. Treatment planning should be created jointly between provider and patient, keeping the patient’s best interest in mind. He believes in working towards helping the patient achieve a healthy life balance and meet the needs of each person individually.
Michael Speed also has training in alternative treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and esketamine to provide to his patients. He is invested in making sure that patients have access to alternative treatments in order to find what works best for them. These treatments offer an approach to mental health care that offers successful completion of patient goals after medication trials have not been beneficial. His overall belief is that working towards helping the patient achieve a healthy life balance and meet the needs of each person individually means doing what specifics are best for them and providing the options to do so.
