Dr. Jampani’s journey into psychiatry began during her general practitioner training in the UK. Upon relocating to the United States, her passion led her to specialize in this field, driven by a commitment to elevate mental health care to the standard of other medical practices.
When working with patients, Dr. Jampani adopts a collaborative style. She believes in taking a thorough history and truly getting to know her patients. Empathy is also central to Dr. Jampani’s approach. She encourages patients to take an active role in their own treatment journey and is always accessible for additional support.
She joined Mindful Health Solutions because we allow her to offer more than just medication management. The practice’s focus on advanced treatments like TMS and esketamine appealed to her, especially for patients who haven’t had success with traditional medications.
Personal Interests
Education & Experience
Dr. Shanti Jampani knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in medicine, but the field of psychiatry wasn’t initially on her radar. While attending medical school in India, she had limited exposure to psychiatric treatment, given the constrained modalities available in the region. It wasn’t until her general practitioner training in England that she found her true calling. During a rotation in psychiatry, she developed a strong interest in mental health treatment, solidifying her decision to specialize in this field when she relocated to the United States. To this day, she regards it as the best career choice she has ever made.
Dr. Jampani’s educational journey led her to complete a residency in adult psychiatry at Westchester Medical Center, affiliated with New York Medical College. Hungry for further specialization, she pursued a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Since then, her professional experience has spanned various settings, including outpatient care, community mental health clinics, and consultative roles. Over time, her passion for psychiatry has only deepened, affirming her commitment to providing compassionate and effective mental health care.
