Dr. Marasa is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), neurocognitive disorders and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
While she had always been attracted to the fields of science and medicine, growing up she had dreams of working for the FBI. Though eventually learning that it wasn’t quite like what is portrayed on TV, her interest remained. After she finished her chief residency year in general psychiatry, she completed a forensic psychiatry fellowship focused on the intercept between psychiatry and law. In fact, she continues to provide expert witness and testimony in a variety of civil and criminal cases.
Dr. Marasa finds that no two patients are ever the same in psychiatry, and she recognizes and appreciates what makes each person unique. She listens to each patient and assesses his or her symptoms, tailoring the treatment approach uniquely to that person. She makes it a point to understand the biologic and genetic factors, psychological factors and social factors to develop individualized treatment options for each patient. She then uses a collaborative approach to offer the patient various treatment options while discussing the risks, benefits, side effects, and alternatives to each. Ultimately, it is team effort to develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient.
She offers her patients the best psychiatric treatment with a broad range of treatment options. She is especially intrigued by Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), where she can treat her patients with the latest in neuromodulation noninvasively. Although she takes pride in staying up-to-date with latest advances in the field of psychiatry, she believes in the motto, “No one cares what you know until they know that you care.”
She joined Mindful Health Solutions in the Summer of 2019.
