Dr. Vidrine is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who specializes in treating patients with OCD, Body Dysmorphia, and related Anxiety Disorders. He has always found himself fascinated by the neuroscience of how experience and relationship attachment lead people to become who they are, living how they live, as a product of both their biology and the multitude of experiences (good and bad) that they have accumulated. This passion for understanding both the science and the human experience is what led him to psychiatry, with a particular interest in the field of Interventional Psychiatry and Neuromodulation.
He sees the field of Interventional Psychiatry (including treatments like ECT, TMS, esketamine nasal spray, and deep brain stimulation) as an important sub-specialty offering novel approaches to treating a variety of psychological disorders. He was initially intrigued by TMS because it is one of the most accessible forms of precision, circuit-based clinical treatment that can be offered in psychiatry. Similarly, he has an interest in the future use of psychedelic and plant medicines as aids in coping with the human experience and increasing cognitive flexibility in a number of mental health conditions.
He provides consultations, medication management, and neuromodulation treatments including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and esketamine nasal spray for patients whose symptoms have not completely resolved with therapy and medication. He is particularly experienced with using TMS to treat OCD and a strong proponent for using this intervention to augment Exposure-Response Prevention therapy. Dr. Vidrine approaches all of his patient encounters from the perspective of providing treatment in the interest of getting people to connect with and move closer to their values and incorporates various disciplines including ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ERP (Exposure and Response Therapy), Mindfulness, and the latest evidence in pharmacology, neuroscience, and neuromodulation.
He joined Mindful Health Solutions in August of 2017.
