More about Gaea Pope-Daum, PMHNP

Gaea found her passion for the field of mental health while listening to people’s stories. She started by working as a counselor at a dual-diagnosis treatment center for adolescents in Oakland. She has worked in a variety of mental health treatment settings since then, mostly as a Registered Nurse, and is excited to expand her role in the field as a PMHNP at Mindful Health Solutions.

Gaea’s areas of interest include psychological trauma and attachment disorders, PTSD, mood disorders, addiction, the genetic and environmental factors contributing to mental illness, and a holistic approach to mental health treatment. She is interested in working with clients to consider the various components of their lives that make up health and wellness, including physical health, interpersonal relationships, nutrition, etc., and developing a treatment plan based on individual interests and desires.

Her working style with patients is one of collaboration and support. She believes that the patient possesses great wisdom and insight, and her role is to provide a safe and therapeutic environment to allow this wisdom can flourish. She believes that a trusting and non-judgmental relationship between patient and provider is key. Gaea is passionate about building a trusting and collaborative relationship by supporting patients while identifying and meeting their personal treatment goals.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Gaea loves to spend her time gardening, hiking, swimming, exploring small towns and back roads, painting, listening to audiobooks, and cooking. She also finds joy in roller skating and skateboarding with her kids.

Education & Experience

Gaea’s work in an adolescent treatment center in her early 20’s led her to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. She recently completed her master’s degree at Regis College in 2022, graduating as an MSN, PMHNP.
