More about Rebecca Currie, LCSW

Rebecca Currie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is joining Mindful Health Solutions as a Psychotherapist. She specializes in working with children, adults, and families who are experiencing challenges with Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorders, PTSD and other mental health concerns often caused and exacerbated by complex trauma. Modalities she likes to utilize within treatment include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy.

She decided to join Mindful Health Solutions in order to work with innovative treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy and esketamine treatments, as well as to work in a patient-centered environment. In her opinion, sometimes traditional psychotherapy or psychiatry is not enough and she would like to work collaboratively with other team members to support patients through various alternative treatments.

As a Psychotherapist, Rebecca Currie wants to provide a safe and supportive environment to promote growth and self-reflection while educating and providing practical skills to my clients to incorporate into their lives. She works collaboratively with her clients and uses an integrative approach while tailoring her therapeutic approach to the needs of the client or family system. She chose a career in the mental health field to help others who are experiencing mental health concerns and have experienced trauma. Overall, she wants to be able to help support clients and families in understanding and coping with their mental health concerns in order to live successful and meaningful lives.

Personal Interests

Outside of work Rebecca enjoys being outdoors, and spends most weekend either hiking or camping with friends or family. She likes to travel to national parks as well as out of the country to explore and hike for extended periods of time. When not outdoors, she likes to binge watch Netflix, listen to podcasts and read.

Education & Experience

Rebecca first attended the University of Nevada in Reno, where she got a Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minor in Psychology. She then went to the University of Michigan, where she got her Master of Social Work.

In her most recent role working at Victor Community Support Services (previously Child Haven) she provided assessment services, crisis intervention and therapeutic services to infants, children, teens, adults and families in various settings to address numerous concerns including emotional and behavioral concerns, Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorders, PTSD and other mental health concerns typically caused and perpetuated by complex trauma.
