More about Brenda Garza, PMHNP

Brenda Garza is a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is a member of our Medication Management staff. She has been an RN on the floor since 2008, and has extensive experience with patients dealing with illnesses such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

Brenda’s goal is to destigmatize the work of mental health and strive to provide care to those in need. In doing so, she works with her patients to create a safe environment and collaborate on a treatment plan for each individual.

Education & Experience

Brenda earned her BSN, and later her MSN to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

She began gaining extensive experience as an RN working in mental health care by starting at The Menninger Clinic followed by Family Psychiatry of the Woodlands. As a nurse practitioner, she continued her practice at Houston Methodist Neurological Institute, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Houston Methodist Hospital. For two years, she worked as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Clinical Instructor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Most recently, returned to The Menninger Clinic and continued on to work at Legacy Community Health. Now, we welcome her as a new staff member to our Medication Management team.
